Animal Journeys highlights the many animals who make remarkable journeys within their environments and around the world against incredible odds. Which creature makes the largest migration? Why do camels have humps? How do hippos move underwater? Readers will find the answers to these questions and many more in this informational book. There is a table of contents, illustrations on each page, and captions. Children who enjoy learning facts, especially about animals, will love this book.
Animal Journeys is broken up into four parts: Miraculous Migrations, Water World, Blowing Hot and Cold, and Animal Antics. The captions are written in cursive, which may make it difficult for young children to access some of the text. It might be more appropriate for parents or educators to read this book to children. This book is small and has thick pages. New vocabulary words like murmuration are introduced to readers in this book. Photographs, rather than illustrations, might be more appropriate for the facts in this book.
