Torrey is on her way to being a very famous YouTube star. Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worse when her sister gets killed in a drunk driving accident. Dealing with her guilt and grief is hard enough without having to deal with the comments on YouTube, either in compassion or malice. After moving to Texas, Torrey tries to find her crowd again and be herself. There's just one problem: she isn't the same person she once was and realizes how shallow and rude she was before. With help from an unexpected friend, Torrey is able to overcome her grief and discover who she really is.

Crooner tells a captivating tale of becoming who you truly are and letting things go. Torrey starts from being self-centered and only caring about what people think of her to someone who can be kind and cares about others feelings, even if they aren't "cool" or "popular". Torrey was definitely annoying at first and was honestly probably not someone a reader would care for, but as she makes little changes, she becomes a more relatable character. The format Crooner uses is very interesting. All the titles are about fashion advice that Torrey would give in one of her videos relates to something happening in the chapter. This would be a good story for those that have lost someone dear to them and are having a hard time coping with loss or even guilt. Overall, it's a wonderful story of discovering who you truly are.
