There are dinosaurs surfboarding, skateboarding, and snowboarding galore! Two teams are set to compete. They start with surfboarding and three dinosaurs take their turn. Some do well and others need some practice, but the competition is not done. They’re off to skateboarding! They show off their coolest stunts, but luckily, they are wearing the proper safety protection. The teams have scored well so it’s down to the last competition, snowboarding. Two dinosaurs each take their turn. The first dinosaur completes a gnarly trick, but the second takes a bad dip. The games are over and the scores come through. They celebrate their successes and have lots of fun!
Dino-Boarding is lots of fun to read. The rhymes keep it fun and help the pacing stay on track. There are some words that come directly from the boarding, and unless you are familiar with the sport, the reader may need to use inferencing. The pictures can help explain the vocabulary from the sports. The illustrations are colorful and take up the whole page. Young readers will be engaged and entertained throughout this book. The message of the book is that, at the end of the day, you can still have fun and enjoy the good things in life. This book will be a fun read aloud for all, but especially for little boys.
