In this pure picture book, words are unnecessary to communicate the blooming friendship between Flora and the flamingo. The little girl and the flamingo are an unlikely pair, but as they focus on their mutual love of dance their differences seem to fade away. And although it takes them a little while to find their harmony, soon the pair are dancing effortlessly.
Molly Idle’s illustrations are absolutely breathtaking. Not only does she manage to communicate a unique story of an unlikely friendship without using a single word, but her artwork breathes beauty into the characters. The interactive element of the fold-out pages is fun and rewarding, although it does require a delicate touch. This book is one for children of all ages, and a delight for adults as well.
