Having a long neck and extra long legs can get you into trouble at the movie theater. A little boy and his giraffe spend a frustrating day together until he gets his kite stuck high up in a tree. It turns out that giraffes are good at getting kites out of trees. Maybe giraffes don't ruin everything, but you DEFINITELY don't want to invite an elephant. Elephants ruin everything.

This book has bright illustrations and cartoon-like solid colors paired with thick black lines. The characters are expressive as the giraffe and the boy grow increasingly frustrated with each other as the book progresses. The images add a lot to the overall charm of the book. The narration is first person, told from the boy's perspective, and is made up of simple short sentences which match the simple illustration style and should appeal to younger children.
