Chirp the chick is on a mission to deliver the basket of flowers to Auntie Duck for her birthday! But oh no! Bear scares her and she loses some of the flowers. To make up for it, Bear takes Chirp to a strawberry patch where she picks some strawberries for her Auntie. Then a bird swoops in and steals the best strawberry, and Chirp trips and tumbles down the hill. Everything seems to be going wrong, until Chirp hears a familiar voice and realizes that she made it to the pond. She was able to deliver the present to her Auntie Duck after all!
Happy Spring, Chirp! is an adorable flap book perfect for toddlers. With a hard outer cover and thick, durable pages, it’s sturdy enough to read with younger children or to let them flip through it on their own. The illustrations are simple, but bright and delightful, the soft edges and happy colors contributing to the cheerful mood of the book. The story is enjoyable and easy to follow, and the flaps are cleverly used to enhance the plotline. Many characters in the story are kind and helpful, subtly encouraging readers to be the same.
