Herb is a rabbit, but his ear hurts from being pulled out of Abracadabra Al's hat every night. He needs to find a new job! He could be a wild rabbit, but he would probably get hurt. He could have a vegetable farm, but he would probably get fat. So he decides to try being a pet rabbit! Sophie seems perfect they play and she gives him carrot cake. Herb loves Sophie and they decide to be best friends.
A lot of the story is told through in the illustrations, so readers will have to decode both the text and pictures to understand the story. The art for this book is a lot of collage and it is fairly busy with all the information that the author is trying to deliver through them. The collage illustrations are unique and add a lot of character to the book. Unfortunately, the story seems a little rough. There seems to be lacking something in the plot to tie the whole book together.
