“What is a promise?,” Baby Bear asks his mother. She explains what a promise is and gives her cub some examples by promising him things she’ll do with him. Baby Bear recognizes that he made a promise to his friend Billy to play with him tomorrow, and is excited to be able to keep that promise. After a day of fulfilling promises with his mother, Baby Bear promises her that he will be a good bear… most of the time.
This book is adorable. It is the perfect teaching tool for helping children understand promises and how important it is to keep them. The story also highlights the love that mothers and children have for each other and the strong parent-child relationships that can be built. The book itself is full of beautiful illustrations, done with watercolors and ink to create a soft, warm feeling. A delightful read to share with children, this book shows that family love is a promise we make and keep forever.
