Discover what it would be like if gigantic prehistoric animals roamed the earth! Moschops lived in South Africa over 260 million years ago. Their skulls were up to four inches thick so that they could head-butt their rivals. Scientists don't know whether Estemmenosuchus was a herbivore or carnivore, it has teeth that look like a carnivore's but its body appears to be made for digesting plant matter. There are giant turtles, sloths, marsupials and more in this book!
This book highlight ten different prehistoric giants. The illustrations are really fun. A to-scale representation of the prehistoric animals is photo-shopped into different modern day settings with people and cars to help with the comparison. However, what makes the illustrations good is the downfall of the text. Almost all of the text describes a possible modern-day situation these animals would experience but offers up almost no information, making it highly creative, but lacking substance. Each page also includes a sidebar with the name pronunciation, animal weight, height, as well as an odd fact or two.
