This little rhino thinks that he is the head honcho. He struts across the savanna making demands, taking what he wants, and bossing everyone around. When he finds a mango tree full of delicious fruit, he keeps everyone else away. But one mouse isn't having it. She stands up to the bully and helps him learn a lesson. When the mango tree is destroyed by a stampede, little rhino doesn't want to be in charge any more!
This picture book helps little bullies realize that actions have consequences and that no one is tough enough to stand all alone. This is a great story to open a discussion on bullying from both sides. The animals are obviously uncomfortable with how they are being treated, and children who are being bullied can express how they think these animals feel, which will reveal how they feel in similar circumstances. Discussing the ending will help everyone understand that being selfish makes bullies feel bad too.
