It's senior year for Alice and she wants to go out with a bang. With life happening so fast, there's only so much time left before she leaves for college and leaves her friends and childhood behind. On a whim, Alice decides to try out for the school play. Luckily she gets the part she wants, but it also comes with a lot of exhaustion and boy trouble. But what is high school for except to have a little fun? Complications continue to come as Alice doesn't get accepted to the college she wants; however, things start to look up when she still gets into another college of merit, and finds out that she and her friends are going to work on a cruise ship over the summer. Life might turn out to be okay.

Naylor captures the life of a high school senior girl in Alice. With all the ups and downs of being accepted and rejected and the break-ups and make-ups, it's like being transported back to high school and all the drama that comes with it. With Alice coming to grips of moving on and leaving things behind, any one, especially a girl, will be able to relate back to their own graduation. Seeing the change in Alice from scared and worried to confident and brave, is a great example to all that anyone can make it through anything as long as they keep moving forward. Since most of the story took place at school, it really showed the drama and cliques that are in a high school and the trail of overcoming those obstacles. This would be a great book for anyone that needs a little laugh about senior year before they graduate themselves.
