It’s been quite a day and now it’s time for a lullaby and sleep. The cows are settling down. Cowboy has brought his guitar and is ready to sing a sweet, slow, relaxing… EEEEEEK! Maybe the lullaby would be a bit nicer if creepy crawlies and terrifying shadows weren’t scaring Cowboy so much. But wait, are they creepy crawlies or just sticks and flowers? Well, if that’s all they are there’s nothing to be afraid of, or is there? Maybe Cowboy’s imagination is the only real fear.
Jan Thomas does an amazing job making children laugh with this book. Cowboy is such a goofy character and the illustrations are just as silly and fun. This story is perfect for teaching children to not let their imaginations dictate their fears. There is a website listed just inside the front cover for those who would like to hear Cowboy sing his lullaby and to make their own storytelling that much more rich. Let’s Sing A Lullaby With the Brave Cowboy is a wonderful addition to any library.
