Porcupine has finally found the perfect picnic spot! Now he just needs some friends to eat with him. Many of his friends won’t eat clover, but he finds out what each of his friends like to eat. Giraffe like to eat leaves and buds, while Panda likes to eat bamboo. Bear likes blueberries and Kookaburra likes to eat spiders. Tiger comes along, and he likes to eat all of the animals!
This book has great illustrations that can intrigue any reader. The story is very repetitive until the last page which can cause some readers to lose interest. All the animals get along, besides Tiger, and they are all very polite. Many of the animals ask “May I join you?,” and porcupine is always considerate to his animal friends. There are some words that will need to be explained to preschool children as they are not easily understood in context. Overall this book is a dependable read and can teach children to be polite.
