A flea flees the circus in pursuit of greater fame. When he finds the success he seeks and gives his all time best performance, he realizes that he misses home and friends at the circus. He makes the journey back to find his friend lifting with all her might to keep the circus going. He finds more satisfying success in cheering for her.
Although Samson leaves to pursue success, he is a good example of persistence in ones goals. The story also brings him home where he realizes that there is more happiness in being with those you love and helping them to achieve success in their endeavors. The message is pertinent in both sections of the story line and successfully conveyed. The illustration is evocative of a french circus with bright color and quirky touches. A read that will make you want to visit a circus.
