Ben, a thirteen year old spy-in-training, gets word that SPYDER, an evil spy agency, is trying to kill the President. Ben is sent to the White House to prevent the attack. When a bomb in Ben’s own jacket blows up the Oval Office, it becomes apparent that SPYDER framed him. Even his own boss thinks he’s guilty. With the help of a few close friends, Ben sets out to prove his innocence and foil another SPYDER plan along the way.

This book is very engaging. A lot of the plotline is unanticipated and surprising, which hooks the reader and keeps them longing to know what will happen next. With spy work and suspense, the story is very exciting and moves quickly. The characters were enjoyable and faced dilemmas expected of middle school-aged spies, as well as greater unexpected challenges. This book would be a good read for students similar to the characters’ ages or even upper-elementary school students. If you’re ready for danger and adventure, this book is for you!
