As dusk falls, Crow steals a loaf of bread from a baker. Crow flies to the woods to enjoy his spoils, but Fox appears at the bottom of the tree. She howls to the moon and when Crow starts to sing back he drops the bread, which Fox quickly catches. She sneaks back into the woods as Crow flies off alone.

The Fox and the Crow features stunning full-page illustrations by Culpeo S. Fox. The story is told in few words, but it is structured in a way that requires a higher level of reading comprehension or cognitive ability than someone would assume by looking at the book. Younger readers should still be able to follow to story because of the illustrations, but they may get confused by the structure of some of the sentences.
