Strictville does not allow fun, play, or cuteness, so when hundreds of puppies begin showing up, the townspeople panic! They do everything they can to try and get rid of the puppies. They throw sticks at them, but the puppies just bring the sticks back! They try chasing them away, but the puppies seem to like that too! Everyone tries to hide inside, but Teddy approaches a puppy and shakes its paw. One at a time, the other people leave their homes to discover that they like puppies as well!
The Great Puppy Invasion is written by the author of Love You, Too and No Tooting at Tea. The style is very different from his other books, but the common denominator is silliness! The Great Puppy Invasion depicts a wide variety of people and puppies; the main little boy, Teddy, has brown skin tones. Kim Smith's digital art is bright and bold. Children will especially enjoy the townsfolk's expressions of horror as they run away from the adorable puppies. The humor is simple enough for even young children to understand.
