The Incredibles are back! In this sequel we find the Parr family more at ease with their powers but unemployed and embroiled in the restrictions that make the use of their powers illegal. With only two weeks to go before eviction, Elastigirl (aka Helen) steps forward to provide for the family while Mr. Incredible (aka Bob) faces the challenges of being a stay-at-home dad. The kids are a bit confused by the current state of affairs. Jack-Jack's impressive powers are revealed, Violet is dating and asserting her independence, and Dash is into everything, as only Dash can be! In the end the Parrs save the day and gain freedom for all.
The Incredibles 2 is a very enjoyable movie with lots of humor, action, and family drama for all. The Parrs, in spite of superhuman abilities, have the same problems with their children and with parental decisions that are common to all. This makes these superheroes wonderfully easy to relate to and keeps the movie content not just adventurous but also real—a quality that many superhero movies lack. The sequel, as is often the case, is not quite equal to the original, but it is a great family choice at the theater.
