Sabrina and Daphne, their town’s appointed fairytale detectives, enroll in school only to have a murder occur on their very first day. They investigate with Puck, the fairy from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, as their bodyguard. As the story progresses, Sabrina becomes more upset by the practices of the Ever Afters and struggles to control her temper and prejudice. Sabrina’s anger causes friction between her and her grandmother and sister, but ultimately she is able to save the day.

The second installment of Michael Buckley’s The Sisters Grimm series focuses on growing up and dealing with your emotions, especially when they are overwhelming. At first, Sabrina blames her feelings on puberty, but it turns out to be the manipulations of another character. This book can teach children the importance of controlling their emotions, as well as not being judgmental of other people and cultures. It also provides another intriguing mystery for young readers to figure out alongside the detective sisters.
