Lara Jean has written a letter to every boy she's ever loved, but she's never sent them. In a series of embarrassing circumstances, Lara's letters are mailed, and now all of her ex-crushes know her secret, including Peter Kavinsky. Peter seizes the opportunity to make his ex-girlfriend Gen jealous by asking Lara Jean to act as his fake girlfriend. Lara accepts, and soon the whole school knows that the two are a couple. As time passes, Peter and Lara grow closer and realize that maybe their relationship is not so fake after all.

This is an excellent movie full of humor, poignancy, and teenage-relatability. Lara Jean is awkward and struggles with self-doubt, but over the course of the movie learns to accept who she is. The writing is superb and the movie has an innocent, lovely quality despite the occasional swearing and sexual references. Fans of the book will not be disappointed by this faithful adaptation. This is a lighthearted and fun watch that will leave you feeling sentimental and ready to fall in love.
