Trickiest! examines the odd survival traits of nineteen different animals. Each animal has been specially designed to survive in their environmental niche. Predators have come up with very creative ways to hide from or lure their prey. Likewise, prey have developed amazing ways to escape from predators. Everything from extreme camouflage to tails falling off can be found in this book of bizarre animal behaviors.
Trickiest! is well suited for its target audience. The information is clear, concise, and easy to find. Each page contains a short paragraph describing the tricky behavior of one animal along with a large picture of that animal and one or two fact boxes. The table of contents and glossary are straightforward and easy to use, which is perfect for the primary-aged readers who are just learning how to use informational text features. The book is fairly plain aesthetically, which may put it at a disadvantage when compared to today's popular, highly stimulating informational texts.
