A parent poetically speaks to a child about how much they are wanted and loved. The illustrations in the book picture a girl as she dances with a bear, picks apples from a giraffe's long neck, crosses a river on hippo-back and more.
The poem is endearing and sweet, a sentimental expression of the force and endurance of love felt by a parent for their child. While the words evoke emotion, the real beauty of this book is in the illustrations. On each page is a lovely, free little girl interacting with wild animals that are seemingly tamed by her innocence. The portrayed interaction between animal and child is magical, something dreamed of in every child's heart. While the text is sentimental, it is not overly sappy.
